S.S Streamboat Championship edition

Championship week is here and I usually always go by the precedence of starting your studs. However, your whole lineup isn’t full of studs and you  need options that are going to help you win the title. Here are some players below that have favorable opponents if you have any injuries or tough matchups and need some better replacements.

All players are owned in less than 60% of Yahoo leagues.

Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions (53%)

VS. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

All of a sudden the Buccaneers above average passing defense earlier this season has gone into shambles. They have allowed 2 or more passing scores in 7 of the last 8 games. While he hasn’t thrown more than 1 touchdown in 3 of 4 games I don’t expect the Lions to get anything going on the ground. During championship week you’ll want a streamer that will throw a lot, has a high ceiling (4, 3-td games) and face a susceptible defense. Matt Ryan just had his best game since week six with 354 yards and three touchdowns, hello Matthew Stafford.

Le’Veon Bell, Kansas City (56%)

VS. Atlanta Falcons

It’s unfortunate that CEH had his fantasy season end like this but Le’Veon Bell has a fantastic matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. We just saw him get used and abused last week amassing 16 touches. Bell looked like a better version of what we saw from the Jets as he looked more elusive and was able to break some tackles. I really liked what I saw and he will get even more opportunities this week against the Falcons that just allowed Fournette to go for two scores. Atlanta has an offense that forces you to keep the pedal on the gas and Kansas City loves to do that. We know how good the opportunities are for their running backs especially near the goal line which is where I see bell doing his work this week just like Fournette.

Jalen Reagor, Philadelphia Eagles (21%)

@ Dallas Cowboys

Here is the number one target for Jalen Hurts in that Philadelphia Eagles offense. Yes, he left last game early with an injury but prior to that he was leading the team with 8 targets and clearly the down field receiver. A championship match up against the Dallas Cowboys is nothing short of a Christmas miracle for the Eagles and I expect capitalization. Jalen Hurts looked good against the Saints and comes off torching the Arizona Cardinals. The Cowboys allow the third most points to wide receivers and have given up 31 passing touchdowns in 14 games. If Hurts wants to prove he’s for real he needs to stomp the Cowboys and Jalen Reagor will be a part of that.

Austin Hooper, Cleveland Browns (48%)

@ New York Jets

One of the biggest positional busts of the season, how can Hooper be trusted in championship week? Well the New York Jets might have something to say about that. Let’s not even address the fact that the Jets allow the most points to the position. They have also allowed a touchdown to a tight end five games running, and we watched waller go for 200/2 in week 13. He is getting hot with Baker who already loves tight ends, with 25 of his 74 career touchdowns (34%) to them. With a score in two of the last three games, I expect another one when fantasy managers need it most.
